New York-based designer Zac Posen has won his label a legion of high profile fans since 2000. His feminine collections are a riot of color and legendary for their party-perfect cocktail dresses. Posen’s work has gained respect for its increasingly streamlined aesthetic of forties-inflected tailoring, mermaid-sequel gowns, and itty-bitty cocktail frocks.
The old-Hollywood glamour of his evening looks makes them a natural choice for pretty young nominees on the Other Coast too: Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Beyoncé have all made the trip down the red carpet in a Posen showstopper. Posen has dressed some of Hollywood’s fashion leaders including Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Mischa Barton.
